I get this question all the time. When do I start a new paragraph? As someone who never took writing classes or went to university for creative writing, it was a struggle for me to learn this. When I stumbled across this amazing Tumblr post on Pinterest, my world changed. I printed this post and kept it beside my desk while I wrote my first book. Feel free to do the same! * If you are the one who created this post way back when, please comment as I would love to give you credit for all the help you've given me!

Tired of not knowing what jobs to give your characters? I've started creating lists of jobs that are outside the box. Run through the list, add some of your own ideas, and see which one will fit your characters and story the best.
Need help interviewing your character to get to the root of who they truly are? Check out my free cheat sheet with over 100 questions.
Feel free to ask them all or toss out the ones that don't matter for your story. You can even add more questions if ones come to mind. Check out my world building questionnaire that I use when starting new projects.
Please note that you may not need all of these questions depending on your story. Please feel free to add questions to this list and make it your own. This is just a rough outline to help you feel like you are standing in the heart of this world that you are creating. Consider yourself like a god. What you say goes. If you want an elf to be an ugly short creature with warts on their face instead of the majestic creatures that J.R.R. Tolkien has created them to be, you go ahead and do that! Be confident in what you are creating and consistent. Also consider the answers for some of these questions for the upper class and lower class of your society as they answers will be different. As promised, here is my cheat sheet for when I'm not too sure how someone said something. When you are sitting there stumped because you don't know what to put instead of "said", skim through this list until you find the word that clicks!
